Set Up Your Call Shield

A simple first-run flow for App Store users. No one needs to understand Twilio or Retell to get protected.

5 minute setup

Step 1

What should Gate Keeper protect you from?

Choose the main reason you are setting up the shield. You can change this later.

Bill collectorsScreen collection calls and request everything in writing.
Spam and salesStop repeat sales calls before they take your time.
PrivacyAvoid giving personal details to unknown callers.
All stressful callsLet the AI decide what needs your attention.

Step 2

Pick the voice style.

The assistant should sound like someone calm at the front desk, not a chatbot.

Warm receptionistKind, steady, helpful with personal callers.
Firm gatekeeperShort, direct, hard to pressure.
Legal-safe onlyMinimal wording, maximum caution.
BalancedFriendly when safe, firm when needed.

Step 3

Who can reach you?

Trusted callers get warmer handling. Everyone else has to explain why they are calling.

Step 4

Set your collector script.

This is the careful message Gate Keeper uses when a collector calls.

Gate Keeper will not admit a debt, promise payment, or discuss account details. It only asks for written communication.

Step 5

Connect and test.

For launch, the user sees plain language. Behind the scenes, Twilio routes the number and Retell runs the AI voice agent.

Choose number

Pick a Gate Keeper number or connect call forwarding.

Test call

Practice a collector, spam, business, and trusted caller.

Block List

Numbers or companies Gatekeeper should hard-decline. In the real app, this would sync with Twilio call routing before the AI even starts talking.

Call Rules

Choose the words the AI is allowed to use. The assistant should sound calm, but it should stay inside hard boundaries.

Debt collectors

Take caller details, avoid debt admission, request written communication, and never promise payment.

Legal threats

Collect company name and deadline, end calmly, alert the user immediately.

Sales calls

Ask to remove the number from their list, then end the call without debate.

Personal callers

Take a warm message and offer a text summary. Transfer only to approved contacts.

Medical offices

Take appointment details without discussing sensitive medical information.

Unknown callers

Require name, company, reason, and callback number before continuing.

Follow-Up Letters

After a collector call, Gatekeeper can prepare a simple draft. A person should review it before sending.

Letter Details

This is a draft, not legal advice. The final app should let users export, edit, and keep proof of mailing.

Send / Export

Gate Keeper can help prepare the email, but the user confirms the recipient and sends it themselves.

Twilio Role

Twilio supplies the phone number and routes incoming calls to the AI voice service. Think of it as the phone line for the app.

Retell Role

Retell runs the AI voice agent, speaks with the caller, follows the Gatekeeper prompt, and sends back transcripts and call summaries.

Deploy With Twilio + Retell

This turns Gate Keeper into a real phone flow: Twilio owns the number and routing, Retell runs the voice agent and call analysis.

1. Twilio number

Buy or connect a phone number. Configure incoming calls to route to the Retell voice agent endpoint.

2. Retell agent

Create a single-prompt Retell agent, paste the Gatekeeper system prompt, choose a calm voice, and test in the browser first.

3. Call analysis

Ask Retell to extract caller name, company, bucket, urgent flag, reason, tone, and recommended follow-up after every call.

Retell Analysis Fields

caller_nameName the caller gave, or REFUSED.
caller_companyCompany or organization, or NONE.
bucketDebt, legal, sales, personal, business, or unclear.
urgentTrue when lawsuit, court, garnishment, summons, attorney, arrest, or deadline appears.
recommended_followupPlain-English next step for the account holder.

Data Tools

For now, these buttons export or import the local demo call data in this browser.
